1/10/08 - Galileo Introduces "Virtual Piano" VP-120

Digital Piano features innovative technologies and new manufacturing technique

Galileo Music introduces the VP-120 digital console piano. The VP-120 is the first of a collection of pianos that uses the companies’ latest piano technologies and manufacturing techniques. The VP-120 “virtual piano” starts with Galileo’s exclusive “iMotion” piano technology – a morphing technique that combines such acoustic anomalies as “string resonance”, “key leverage” and “damper dynamics” – and then it adds an all-new software technology that creates various ‘virtual’ piano types – including ‘concert grand’, ‘baby grand’ and ‘vertical’. The virtual-piano technology analyzes the room and uses an advanced algorithmic calculation to change the quality of the sound as it is being produced – creating ‘bigger’ or ‘smaller’ pianos according to the user settings. Another unique innovation – a “Vocal Guide” – can also be found in the VP-120. This speaking interface uses a pleasant-sounding voice to explain various settings and features – and helps make the VP-120 easier to use (especially for blind or visually-impaired people). The feature can be enabled or disabled by the user.

With the home consumer in mind, the Galileo VP-120 features an Italian-designed cabinet, console-style legs and sliding key cover – available in dark rosewood or ebony polish finish. Other features of the VP-120 include: a ‘Grand Response’ full-hammer action keyboard; built-in metronome; 2 headphone jacks for private practice; 3 Track Sequencer; MIDI In/Out/Thru; Stereo Audio Inputs & Outputs. All of these features are presented on a control panel designed specifically for piano students and home consumers.
